Let's Practice Making Blog through SAGUSABLOG Teachers Training

               SAGUSABLOG is one of the activities conducted by IGI. As any other activities conducted by IGI, SAGUSABLOG is an activity aimed to enhance teachers’ competences, specifically pedagogical competences in creating/producing instructional media. As we can infer from the name, this activities is aimed to helped the participants (teachers) to develop their competences in making blog as one of the instructional medium.

              At this moment, teachers and students are demanded to hold teaching and learning activities through various online applications due to Corona outbreak.This situation must be really confusing for both teachers and students as they have to shift from the traditional face-to-face teaching and learning to virtual (online) teaching and learning due to the reason that online teaching and learning become the only choices to keep learning activities take place.

             However, this condition also offers many positive sides. Specifically for teacher and students, getting accustomed to using many online application for teaching and learning is certainly a great experience to have. Through this opportunity, teachers are learning to utilize their e-mail and WhatsApp not only for communicating, but also for sharing and discussing materials. Various online applications, such as Google classroom, Google Form, Quizzez, etc., are also used to presenting interesting tests to students. The use of video for teaching, both self-made video or video downloaded from Youtube, also becomes popular since video is a great way to explain materials verbally without face-to-face meeting. Then, how about oline application for sharing materials? What application can be used to help teachers organize the materials that they will share to their students? Well, the answer is Blog.

               Why Blog? Blog has been around for a long time. When Youtube, WhatsApp, or Instagram has not been popular, people liked to spend their online time by writing blog. They wrote a lot of different information on their Blog in order to keep it. The best thing was that their writing could be read by many other people. Thus, they could share beneficial information while chanelling their hobby. It is really effective to store data, which can be shared by everybody, on your blog because blog makes the data organized. You can see poting based on the timeline or based on the title. Thereby, it's a great application for teacher to post the materials. By using Blog, teacher not only share the materials to the students, but also assure that the materials are safely stored so that the students can access it anytime without worrying that the materials are lost.

              Now that many teachers are not familiar with Blog, an online workshop called Satu Guru Satu Blog is conducted to help teachers make their own Blog. This online workshop is really helpful for it provides its participant with thorough modules which explain how to create your own blog from the very basic steps. Moreover, it also provides video tutorials so that it is easier for the participant to understand the steps and apply the steps to create an interesting blog.
